Broadcast Operations

Broadcast Operations is all about getting our great programmes out to air, on all of our platforms, correctly. This means making sure it has the right metadata, video, audio and access services. Our people make it their mission to improve our on-air performance and tackle any problems. Broadcast Operations is a large department broken into a number of smaller teams: Channel Operations, Commercial Operations, Content Operations, Strategy Channel Operations, Transmission, Viewer Services and Signpost. 

Channel Operations create and produce transmission schedules for all our channels, ensuring they deliver the best possible results for our programme, sales and marketing strategies. Commercial Operations manage sponsorship deals and look after commercials on our channels. Content Operations is responsible for tracking and delivering all long-form content, working with Production to make sure content is delivered to schedule in the right formats. The Transmission team is responsible for providing high-quality, error-free transmission services and acts as the main point of contact with our third party suppliers. Our Viewer Services team is an ambassador for ITV, providing award-wining customer-facing communications. The team is responsible for responding to viewers' phone calls, emails and letters of comment, enquiry and complaints regarding ITV programmes and finally SignPost,  our centre of excellence for on-screen sign language production based at Television House in Gateshead. They produce more than 1,100 hours of video output each year, SignPost are experts in creating accessible on-screen content for broadcast, online and many other platforms. They provide sign language access for ITV’s family of channels as well as RTE, Ireland’s leading broadcaster, and a range of public and private sector clients.
