Commissioning & Programme Strategy
ITV loves being famous
We’re home to the biggest entertainment events, original drama soaps, edge-of-your seat sports, award-winning factual series, and independent national and regional news. We’re also home to our ‘three Cs and a G’ – and together they make for some bold, brave and explosive programming.
Here’s what our teams get up to…
Our Commissioning Teams are structured into a number of genre teams: Entertainment, Comedy Entertainment, Factual Entertainment, Factual, Drama, News and Current Affairs, Sport, and Daytime. And each genre team is led by a Director/Head of Commissioning with Commissioning Editors, Commissioners, Coordinators and support staff.
What’s more, each has a huge challenge, too – to continue finding and delivering even more of the high-quality and popular television, hit programmes, and well-known series we’re famous for.
Our programme strategy team is responsible for planning and communicating our main channel schedule – which covers the next two years. The team is responsible for staying on top of constant changes to the programming mix and for making big decisions on commissioned programming and live events… and is made up of a Director, a Head of Programme Strategy Communication, a Head of Off Peak Scheduling, a Strategy Manager and a number of Analysts.
