Election coverage promotion on ITV News

ITV News

The world moves fast these days. Any news programme, newspaper, or current affairs programme will tell you that.

Here at ITV News, we’re able to move more than fast enough to keep up. And it’s all thanks to the ITV Way, and how it inspires us to get things done, and keeps us on track - especially in times of change.

Our News team delivers high quality and trustworthy television and online coverage that regularly attracts audiences in excess of 3.5 million viewers. We operate in 11 main news production centres across England, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Channel Islands. We also have a Political Unit and a Weather centre based in Millbank, London. And finally, we produce a range of current affairs & factual programming out of ITV Wales, UTV and ITV Border.

It’s a fast moving environment with a huge variety of roles and challenges on offer. To begin with, you’ll find a Head of News leading and managing each regional team. There are editorial roles including producers, reporters, presenters and newsdesk journalists who are all responsible for making sure our broadcasting and online content is excellent, relevant and current, for finding and delivering the news stories of the day, and for writing stories for the web and promoting our coverage on social media.

And then there are technical roles such as directors, craft editors, technology specialists and camera operators who work both in the studio and out on the road delivering a high quality service to team as a whole.

Joining the team means having the kind of skills we’re looking for, which could be anything from directing, vision mixing, sound, gallery PA, autocue and editing, through to making great political contacts in Westminster and finding political stories, performing live, writing and editing scripts, and conducting interviews.
